Our team is ready to provide you with an experience of a lifetime!
All host-families are vetted and personally known to your Irish Coordinators in Spain. Daily classes in rooms exclusively for our students. All scheduled activities, tours and excursions are supervised by monitors and/or professional guides.
Meet the team
Dublin born and brought up in a bilingual home, Emily participated in the first Transition Year programme introduced into mainstream education in 1994. She had an opportunity to go to Spain during TY and she fell madly in love… with the country, its climate, its culture and the people. This TY experience changed the course of her life.
On completing her Honours Degree in Spanish Language and Cultural Studies in UCC, she moved to Spain where her career flourished in education and expanded into the fields of tourism and event management.
While in Madrid, Emily set up and ran a successful language academy in Puerta del Sol (2012-2018). She is an official examiner for various international exam boards, organiser of bilingual events and President of the local bilingual Association.
She is also founder and director of a company dedicated to the organisation of gastronomic and corporate events, touristic activities and personalised tours for family or group celebrations. Certificate of Excellence for 6 consecutive years (Tripadvisor and Luxury Travel Guide).
Upon moving to Granada in 2019, she founded Transition Spain; an initiative to inspire students, opening their eyes to new horizons.
Our Transition Spain team have a common objective of providing a unique learning experience for our students.
Our native Spanish teachers have extensive training in the educational field offering dynamic classes and personalised lesson plans with practical educational objectives, specifically designed for TY and/or Leaving Certificate students.
Our teaching staff are very familiar with the Irish education system and are well equipped to help students achieve their optimal exam results.
Our experienced monitors accompany students on their Spanish adventure. Prior to each activity during our action-packed programme, students are given preparation lessons to ensure they have all the vocabulary to fully benefit from our activity-based learning.
